Fun Fall So Far!

I can't believe it is already October! We have had a great beginning to Fall and are looking forward to more of the beautiful weather we have been enjoying lately. In September, the kids got to start at their new school here in Abilene. They have both loved their classrooms...and I have loved having a little bit of time to myself. I interviewed for a new job last week, and will start working next week while the kids are at school. I am really excited about it!

It takes a lot more stuff to get two little people ready for school each day!

Besides starting school, Anna Lee has begun the process of learning to read! She has been sounding out a lot of words and we have been so proud of her! Mom-Mom sent her this fun cookie bouquet last week to congratulate her on some of the words she has been reading. It was a fun way to get to celebrate! She literally got to eat her words. :)

Last weekend, we made a quick trip to Dallas for a fun event: Kasey's engagement! My whole family and Nathan's whole family came in to surprise Kasey (at Nathan's request) after the proprsed. It was so much fun to get to be a part of that night. We can't wait to welcome Nathan into our family!

We have loved the past few weeks of Fall weather. Because we have a lot of trees at our house, we have a lot of leaves. This past weekend, we worked to bag all of the leaves...but we had to spend some time playing in them first! Anna Lee loved every minute of it...

and J.D. equally hated it. It was so funny to watch them together!

But the most fun part is that we are getting to spend so much time as a family with this special daddy around more often! We are loving it!

We miss you guys! We have approximately 20 "drawings" Ryan has made that he is saving to give to Anna Lee. He finishes one and then says, "oh, she's gonna loooooove this one!"

We are so happy you are happy and can't wait until our next visit together!
