50's Day

Anna Lee had 50's Day at her school last week. I had been in San Antonio visiting for a few days that week and mentioned to my mom that I didn't know what Anna Lee was going to wear. My mom, being the amazing woman that she is, came back a few minutes later with this poodle skirt that used to belong to Kasey. Amazing. Anna Lee thought it was so "cool" (one of her new words)to get to wear the same skirt Kasey wore when she was a little girl.

Feelin' Skinny

I just put Anna Lee to bed and this was our conversation:
Anna Lee: Mommy, are you going to have another baby?
Me: No, why?
Anna Lee: Well, is there a baby in your tummy?
Me: No there is definitely not.
Anna Lee: Then what is this (pointing at my belly) and why is it so big?
Me: Sigh
Guess Mommy needs to go on a diet.

Meet Sally and Joe

These are two of our favorite friends lately. Sally and Joe. They have quite the interesting personalities. They "somehow" know all of the princess stories and many important details about all of the princesses...and they have very thick country accents. Anna Lee has had these two spoons tell her so many stories lately. Little did I know these spoons could create such fun! Anyone else have any other simple and fun activities or ideas?

Looking Forward to Spring!

Last week was beautiful. This week has been sleepy. The weather last week was incredible. It was a perfect temperature and the sun was shining so much! It seemed like we hadn't seen very much of the sun in a while. The kids had so much fun playing outside! We were out in the back yard or on walks as much as possible.

This week, the mood has been much different. The weather has been colder, and we still haven't recovered from Spring Forward. J.D. doesn't seem to be as bothered by it as Anna Lee...but she makes up for it! Ever since Anna Lee was a little baby, she has been very affected by springing forward or falling back. She just can't seem to get adjusted...and she is just "off" for a while. This week has been no exception. She has been sleeping terribly and terribly sleepy...and just plain moody. Hopefully a few more days and we will be back to normal.

Nothing like a little sunny weather to bring smiles like this! We are ready for Spring!

Beautiful

Last week, we saw the most amazing rainbow. It was a double rainbow that was so brilliant. We have read the story of Noah to Anna Lee a million times, and she loved getting to see a beautiful rainbow in the sky like in the story. It was a beautiful reminder of God's creation and promises.

It's a Jungle Out There

Anna Lee's cousin, Kasen had his 4th birthday party last weekend. Anna Lee loves playing with her cousins, so she was really excited to get to go to Kasen's party. My sister-in-law, Lacy, plans amazing parties so as usual, things were super cute. The party had a jungle theme, and the kids all got "binoculars" and hats and got to go on a "safari". Anna Lee loved it and got a little help from her cousin along the way.

Anna Lee wasn't the only one who had fun with her cousins! J.D. joined in too!

Kasen and Anna Lee playing in the treehouse together. They were pretending she was the mommy and he was the baby...and all the food she brought him to eat, he wasn't happy with. Sounds familiar.

Happy Birthday sweet Kasen and Matthew! We love you!

Old MacDonald Had a...

The other day, I told Anna Lee her voice sounded a little hoarse. She looked at me with a confused expression and simply said, "Nay."

I'd Rather be Reading

This is what I found a LONG time after I had put Anna Lee down for her nap today.
Not exactly sleeping.
